Gooseneck Hitch Installation - 2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body

Today on our 2007 Chevy Silverado, New Body style, we'll be installing the B and W Turnover Ball, Underbed, Gooseneck trailer hitch with custom installation kit, rated for 30,000lbs. Part number BWGNRK1067. Now we've already gone ahead and removed the spare tire, as well as pulled both the rear wheel off the vehicle. Next we'll need to go ahead and lower the exhaust down, we'll do this by removing the rear rubber exhaust hanger and letting the exhaust hang down low enough. Now we'll need to remove the heat shield, or at least a portion of it. The directions say to remove between crossmember and crossmember, but it's actually between the hatch channel of the actual bed, not the crossmember or the frame of the vehicle. You really only need to remove the heat shield in between the two hatch sections on the bed, to do this you can either use a set of tin snips or a cutoff wheel. Now that we have the heat shield out of the way, now we need to go into the bed of the vehicle and mark our location where we'll be drilling a 4-inch hole through the bed of the vehicle. more

Today on our 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD, we'll be installing the Blue Ox Diamond Hitch, part number DH1304. We've already gone ahead and removed the spare tire as well as the two rear wheels on the vehicle. We've removed the two rear wheels only for demonstration purposes so that you will be able to see what we're doing. We'll now go ahead and measure on the underside of the bed from the rear of the bed making sure not to include the tailgate forward. We'll insure that the location of the ball is approximately one inch in front of the centerline of the axle. We'll now go to the top side of our bed where we'll use a tape measure to find the center of our bed. We'll measure from the two wheel wells across. more

Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on this 2007 Chevrolet Silverado were going to install part number 9465-34. Were going to start off our install with the rear wheels removed and the spare tire lowered out of the way. You dont have to do this, but it makes access to the insulation and hitch a lot easier. Now this vehicle has an OEM brake controller installed in the frame rail, so theres two bolts we have to loosen up so we can remove it from the rail. All we have to do is just loosen up the bolts, push it to the side and we can remove it from the frame. Were going to let it sit inside the frame for now. more
